Meet Emma Sparks, someone who’s been passionate about the environment since childhood. Growing up in nature and curious about how things work, the author chose a path of caring and problem solving. Realizing the stakes when it comes to fossil fuel use, climate impacts, and civilizational risk, they decided to turn that passion into writing and advocacy.

I have had a really keen interest in environmental issues from a young age and understanding how this affects both people and wildlife. Growing up in the countryside, I enjoyed spending time in nature and learning more about the environment whilst also having an interest in machines and how things work. I could have worked in conservation management or engineering, but my career path took me into nursing after several years of ill health myself and caring for others. However, I could no longer sit idlily by seeing the damaging effects of burning fossil fuels on this beautiful planet, potentially putting civilisation at risk, so I began my writing and publishing journey.
